Snippets and WIPs.

I feel like time is just whizzing by at the moment.
My days are so full.
With the boys on school holidays, Mollie, household tasks, sewing... I feel like the moments I get to just sit, and quietly and pop my head up for air, are few and far between.
I'm not complaining though - quite the opposite actually. I'm quite enjoying myself.
Mollie is slowly learning to sleep in her bed (touch wood), I'm really loving the things I've been working on for my Felt shop, the weather is warming up, we've been eating like kings.. and there are so many things on the horizon for us. (I can't wait to tell you about some of them, but not just yet!)
Life is good.

8 of the things that made up my day.

1.Delicious, chubby babies. (Well, just one actually..)
This wee miss is packing on the pounds and amassing some seriously scrummy rolls. There are not many things in this world that I love more than chunky babes.

2. Washing.
I don't love washing. But I accept it. I am the only person in my house that does it (because I'm so anal about how it must be done - Abraham wouldn't be brave enough to try it!) so it is something I do every single day, without fail. In fact, I do at least three loads a day....
I must confess, I do rather enjoy the satisfaction of bringing in a dry load of washing. It would be nice if that happened a little more often than it does at the moment.

3.Nappies.
These sort of come under 'washing', I know. But they also enter my life at other times. I fold them, I change them, I rinse and soak them.
We bought new nappies this time round, a different brand than before, and I'm still getting used to them. Mollie seems to like them though, that's the main thing, right?

4. Thrifting.
I have popped into at least one op shop nearly everyday for the past few weeks. It is an addiction, it has been for years now. But you know what? I don't spend money on coffee/visit cafes/smoke. I don't drink wine (at the moment) and I don't buy magazines/make up/expensive clothes. I spend $20-$30 a week filling my house with other peoples junk instead. Haha. SO much better.

5. Orders.
I have been blessed enough though have had a few sales through my Felt store this week. I've had so much fun wrapping each order in vintage wallpaper, and choosing out a business card to attach, before popping them in their postbags. I feel so lucky to have people who want to buy the things I make.

6. Otto.
Today, and last Thursday, Ottos homecarer has been unwell and Otto has spent the day at home with me. It's a hard one for me, because I really look forward to my two days with just Mollie. They are my days where I (usually) manage a little more sewing, and also where I run my errands in town and, sometimes, meet up with a friend for sushi or something.
But these two Thursdays have actually been really choice. Otto is a very cool guy to hang out with. Both boys are actually, when they are separate. It's hard to remember this sometimes, when all they seem to do is bicker and bicker. I need to try harder to spend more one-on-one time with each of them.

7.  Flowers.
My sweet, sweet husband read my blog post yesterday and felt sorry for me. He phoned my fave florist and had these amazing flowers delivered, with a card that says ' Hang in there! I love you, bro xoxo'. Isn't he just the loveliest man? I'm quite fond of him.

8. Feeding.
This is what I'm doing as I type this. It's what I will do, on and off, from now (8pm) until morning.
It is pretty much my main purpose in life at the moment, and fills a large portion of my day. Sometimes I feel okay about this, sometimes I love it, and other times.. well, it makes me feel tired.
It is a stage though, and soon enough it will be over and I will look back and miss it. It is what it is.

Overall though, I feel so stoked with my life today. It is (and I am) far from 'perfect', but I think that's what makes it perfect. If that makes any sense. If it doesn't, well, I'm claiming nappy brain.

12 hours/ 12 photos.

Inspired by my lovely bestie (who now has a blog.. over here..), I decided to have a go at the 'Photo an hour' meme yesterday. It was really interesting to see how much (or in yesterdays case, how little!) I got done in a day, and also to realise how quickly time passes. There were a few photos I nearly completely forgot to take!

7am: Out of bed, making lunches and breakfasts.

8am: Rushing out the door to drop Aesop at school and Otto at homecare.

9am: Taking my Wardrobe Wednesday shots for the day.

10am: Catching up on some 'very important' T.V - Go Girls. (Actually I'm very disappointed with this season.. but that's a story for another day.)

11am: Out to 'The Hub' to pick up a few things we needed. Printer ink, school shorts, a night bra and a baby singlet.

12noon: Printing drafts of Abraham's birthday party invite. Trying hard to line up the picture and the text, failing.

1pm: A late lunch of sushi with a friend. DELISH. We also walked around the shops and made fun of current fashion- always a favourite activity for me.

2pm: On my way to pick the boys up.

3pm: Aesop does his homework and practises his recorder.

4pm: I get dinner on. Chicken curry.

5pm: a very tired and grumpy Otto falls asleep on the floor in the hallway. In hindsight, I should have woken him... but he was too cute.

6pm: We sit outside, making the most of the light dinner time hours still, and eat our curry. It tastes very good.

7pm: We go for a stroll around the neighbourhood, to get rid of the last of our energy before bed. It's beautiful, as always.

Tuesday.

Playdough, and other activities that only seem to entertain for a few minutes. A wee paper project for me.  Finally getting some washing dry. Boys moving so fast I can't photograph them. A row or two in between other tasks.
Add some delicious beef curry, an hour or two perusing pinterest, a walk to the vege store, and staying my my pjs til lunch time; and you'll have my whole Tuesday about summed up. Quite glorious, really.

A day in the life of.

Inspired by Clare, as I so often am, I decided to document one of my days.  It was much harder than Clare makes it seem. I struggled to take photos of things that weren't food, struggled to find the time to write everything down and also wondered how on earth anyone is going to find my day interesting.
But, just in case you might, here it is:

6:45 - Otto awake and babbling/grizzling. Aesop putting on his dressing gown.

7:00 - We give in and get out of bed. Abraham showers while I make breakfast (marmite toast and weet-bix) for the kids. I also make Aesop's school lunch.
7:20 - Into the shower and then get dressed for the day.
7:45 - Get the kids dressed, quick check of the e-mail/facebook, Abraham leaves for work.
8:00 - Dry/straighten my hair, put the dishes away and put some washing on while Aesop packs his bag. We all brush our teeth together.
8:30 - Drive Aesop to school. Drop him off and head to the vegies shop to buy food for morning tea and Farmers for their big one day sale (two pairs of shorts and a singlet for Aesop and a few little things for Christmas, in case you were wondering!).
9:30 - To my friend Shelley's house. Haven't seen her in awhile so we hang out with her and her little one (and the little one she does home care for), eat morning tea and chat.

11:15 - Home again. Otto goes down for a sleep. I eat lunch, read through the updates on my blog reader (92! Holy Hannah! Must consider culling that.) and write a quick blog post.

12:10 - Photograph the goodies for this weeks Croutons update (which will be up later today). Curse the sun for it's inability to make up its mind whether it wants to come out or hide behind clouds.

1:10 - Otto awake, change his bum and give him some lunch. While he is eating I go around the house and have a general tidy, pick up toys, put washing into laundry etc and do the dishes.

1:40 - Hang out washing, debate whether it will rain or not and put some more washing on. Play with Otto outside, digging in the garden, rolling the ball around etc.
2:30 - Drive to pick up Aesop.
3:00 -Home. We all have afternoon tea (spaghetti and cheese on toast) and I do a quick email check.

3:30 - More washing in the machine. Fold and put away a basket of dry washing. Water the garden and lawn.
Boys play outside, Otto in the garden putting dirt in his bucket, and trying to splash in the puddles from the hose, and Aesop practising his climbing.

4:25 - Start making dinner ( honey soy chicken, potatoes and salad).
Also sort out and clean the fridge, wipe down the table, get the washing in and have another general tidy up.
5:15 - Get ready to head to bootcamp.
5:40 - Abraham gets home, too late for me to go to bootcamp. Take sneakers off and, grumpily, eat my dinner. Too annoyed to go out and do any other exercise.
6:30- 10:30 Watch t.v, resize and edit all of my photos for the update, eat a bowl of muesli and generally blob on the couch.
10:30 - Go to bed. Do a few clues on my crossword ( yes, I realise that makes me sound like a Nana!) and doze off around 11.

Phew! I feel both pleased and very exposed. (Also amazed at how much my day revolves around food and internet though I suspected that all along. hah).  Maybe you could play along and even things out a little?
